The Kutschurgan Listserv is a 'CLOSED Server' meaning only active members of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society (GRHS) can belong to the list and send or receive mail by means of this server.
PURPOSE OF THE LISTSERV:
HOW TO BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THIS MAILING LIST:
Send a short e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org containing the information described below to establish yourself as 'bona fide'. Bona fide means that the researcher is serious in their research and that they are not in the business of making money by selling their Kutschurgan research to fellow members. Please note that this does not preclude members from recovering costs associated with research.
Active members of the listserv will have
full access to the listserv along with access to the password protected areas of
the Kutschurgan Regional Interest Group (KRIG) web pages.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR INTRODUCTION MESSAGE:
We're not asking for a four-page report! Just a short profile about yourself, which will be forwarded to the entire group as your introduction.
In addition, please mention how you heard of the mailing list and tell us a little about yourself - only what you feel comfortable in sharing. Of course, the more you tell us, the clearer our picture of you, so feel free to include anything you care to about your earlier or future research and any other interesting items you can think of.
Once Brian receives your information he will plug you into the list by sharing your self-introduction with the rest of the list. At that time, you will receive a welcome email with instructions, guidelines, and commands regarding the list.
